San Francisco de Loncomilla's Frozen Desserts have always been known by their numbers. A famous example was number 13, when a teacher asked his classroom what they associated the number 13 with and many of the students agreed that it corresponded to the Suspiro Limeño Frozen Dessert.
At the beginning, they used to sell the renowned San Francisco de Loncomilla fresh cheeses in a shop on the road to Constitución. But shortly thereafter and using the fresh cream available to increase the number of products offered by the shop, it began to offer Premium-type ice creams with 15% fat content and soon went on to offer something more than just single-flavor ice creams: adding nuts, meringues, cookies and sauces. Immediately the different desserts based on traditional pastries began to appear. On weekends and in particular on summer afternoons, large numbers of people would throng together to be quickly attended and then get home soon. In order to standardize the components of each Frozen Dessert and to avoid making mistakes in the rush, each Dessert was highlighted on a blackboard hanging on the inside wall. At the time there were numbers 1 through 12. |

The first labels would be stuck to the 1-liter package. |
Finally, to avoid the public having to wait for the time it took to make them, it was decided that they should be prepared in advance and left in a freezer with identification, ready for sale. This way it was easy and you could be home with the Dessert in a wink. |
